Last year I bought Komodo from Chessbase. New versions have come out. I contacted the Komodo website & asked if I could obtain/purchase the upgrade. Other software I've used has either provided an upgrade at a discount, or in one case sent it at no extra cost.
Komodo website answered that I was not eligible for an upgrade as I did not buy it directly from them.
Something seems unethical. Should a distributor sell software labeled 'Komodo' when Komodo will not support it ? Should Komodo allow it sold under their name, but turn their back on it ?
