Hi Shelby. I’ll be happy to pay for a sample whenever they arrive, whatever you’re going to charge (as long as it isn’t completely absurd) and provide a review here. Feel free to let me know if you’re interested. Tedkramer123@gmail.com

You every try to burn treated leather?!?!?  Smelled to high heaven.  Essentially, that is what happened when we tossed the blanks in the laser engraver.  Took a week for the smell to get out of the sub office...

Live and learn...right?

Seeing as you're still alive and kicking, I'll assume you lost only a minimum amount of brain cells from the chemical fumes. One can only guess on the amount and type of chemicals used in Chinese factory leather tanning vats. Oof.

I LOVE the idea of a quality leather chess board. In fact, have been actively seeking them online and seems they’re hard to find. So count me in as potential customer - if you do international postage to Australia!

I think a lot of people are interested in leather boards after watching Queen's Gambit on Netflix 😊

Don't mind getting if shipping to Singapore is not too expensive.

Here are some roll up leather chess boards that are available in 2, 2.25 and 2.5 with choice of colors.  They can be found on etsy from KimboLimboBoutique..

Shelby,

That is a discussion you should have with her.  I am only making the posting as a favor to a friend.  I do know that they are hand crafted and require about 4 sq. ft. of quality leather per board.  I believe that it is not an inexpensive raw material.  I think that pricing decisions are for the merchant to make and not my business.

p.s.  Who knows, maybe some day having  an original "Kimbo" leather board may be considered desirable...

I think a leather board would look good with an antique reproduction set.  I'd buy one.  And i'd rather spend a little more for a quality product, I'm not looking for some flimsy thing to go with plastic pieces.  I've seen some that have the squares individually stitched together which look pretty cool.

Would these be ink on the surface of the leather?  I'd be ok with that, but if that is the process I would think you could offer multiple sizes.  I was thinking of 2 inch squares.

The boards I posted pictures of are available in 2, 2.25 and 2.5 inch squares painted in a choice of colors and sealed (I think that is what she told me)  It is one piece of leather so the surface is smooth.  Available on etsy a KimboLimboBotique

The boards I posted pictures of are available in 2, 2.25 and 2.5 inch squares.  They are hand painted in a choice of colors and sealed.  it is a single piece of leather, resulting in a smooth surface.  ( I believe that is what she told me)

See  KimboLimboBotique on etsy for more information...
