Thanks! As in many other groups it is a pleasure to read your answers, gambit-man! But I have not found any way to select any filters on time.
Another thing in the future that could be of intrest is to deduct all players with T3 above xx% if rating is below xxxx, if any such model could be build for that with statistical signifiqance.
Which version of ChessBase do you use? On v12 and i think also v11, there is a check box "good only" which will automatically rule out everything except top level games.
There are also many other way to filter out your results based on different criteria, rating just being one of those.
The T3 issues is just far too much work, it would need an extensive analysis of those 5 million games. When working with bundles of 50 from a subject, i can tell you those are pretty time consuming, i wouldn't want to try 5 million on anything less than a 64,000 core cpu...
Hi all,
In the database that I refer to in a link below I found blitzgames, one also attached here below. I understand that the chesscompanies seems to think that 5 million games is more impressive than 4,5 million games but adding a game between two players rated below 1700 might maybe not be that relevant. So we need GM-games, cool and there is more GM-games but is a 3 min blitzgame of any intrest at all for any theoretical discussion? Adding blitzgames destroys statistics quite substantially, and completely shows incorrect results in many variations. In many countries there is a risk for ones right little finger or imprisonment for theft of 160 €/215$.....
My question is if Mega Database 2014 could be cleaned with any sort of filtering to create a new database and remove all <15 min games??

At least Mega Database 2014 shows that it is, in fact, a blitz game. That same game is in Hugebase - the ChessOK-Convekta database - but not explicitly identified as blitz.
