Microsoft App store - Chess apps

I was thinking about getting the MS Surface.  I know the Chess.com app is not there yet (hopefully soon!) but does anyone know what chess apps ARE available in the MS app store?

Thanks.

I picked up a Surface, and haven't found any good chess apps yet. A chess.com app would be great (I use the iPhone app all the time), but something to bear in mind is that chess.com works in the browser just like it does on a PC. The full site is not ideal for touch use, but works well with the touchpad cursor.

Here's a screenshot from the store on the Surface, showing the chess apps currently available:

What do the different colours mean?

Thanks EE, that helps a lot.  I am disappointed that none of the big ones are there (Fritz, Shredder, Chess.com, Chess Genius, ICC, etc.)

If you use the browser can you still do the touch screen to move pieces on the Surface?  I can't imagine that the touch pad would be good for live games of blitz.

The touch screen is fine for navigating the site generally, but I have had trouble using it to move pieces on the board. If you have one of the keyboard covers (which you absolutely should pick up if you get a Surface!) you can use the touchpad, and it's just the same as playing on a laptop. You could also plug in a mouse if you prefer. An app would be great, so that you could play in tablet mode, but using the full browser and cursor works just fine, if a little trickier to manage on your lap. I would really like to have a chess.com app and the Shredder app - those are the two I use a lot on my phone.

I now have a Surface and I see what you mean about the touch interface being unresponsive in Chess.com.  I really hope they come out with an app soon.  Until then I have found that ICC has an app that I can use in the meantime.  I haven't tried it yet but I am hopeful.  I would much rather use Chess.com but I do like to use a touch interface on my tablet.

I just found a app for the Surface called ChessTactics by FinderCode.  The free version, with ads, gives you 5,000 problems while the paid version ($4.99) supposedly gives you 20,000 tactical problems (and no ads, obviously).

It seems pretty good. Not a lot of options or settings - like setting a difficulty range for example.  Just solve the problem or not - no analysis.  You have the option of factoring your solution time into your score.

Annoyingly, Googling for "ChessTactics FinderCode" brings up only 3 links none of which look useful. Typo?

Sorry, that should be FinerCode.

Thanks!
