It was said  and verified that Mikhal Tal would mostly  buy and invest in beginner chess  books. He would get more tactics and strategies and ideas for his winning combinations. There are a lot of beginner books that have different types of format that is taught in different ways. From learning different patterns of chekmate. Every teacher is teaching the same thing. Beginner chess. Every author has their own way of approaching the game. We were all beginners at one time. There are a lot of books on chess out there. There's a lot to learn. Chess books. There's good and bad. Beginner; intermediate; master.

Where is that said? Tell us about the book and page where you read it.

Tal had a funky right hand. It's said he had only 3 fingers on it from a birth defect, but it was way worse than that description, it was some kind of lobster claw nightmare:

Google images "Tal's right hand" and have a look.

I think he's trying to say that if you read beginners' books you too will develop a cool lobster claw for a hand.

I'm sure that he was just joking.
