hi all, im looking for a positional play book for beginners, but im not sure what this is, all the opening, middle and end game books are positional play books??

its really confusing for a beginner like me!

but i read that without good position you cannot do tactics so it seems to me to get a basic understanding of positioning first, like a good idea

thx in advance!

Are you looking for a book on tactics?

but i read you cannot do tactics unless you are positioned well, so thats why i wanna atleast get a basic of positional chess first :o

my advice go for tactics, playing positionally is a much more difficult concept. My coach told me I have to play opengames and progress tactically before trying to play positionally. The reason simple players rated 200 points above you will just demolish you because all you will be thinking of is playing positionally without creating any sort of strong attack, eventually you will loose it happened to me over and over. now at least when i play stronger players i can give them a game tactically. I am now just starting to learn more about positional play.

My advice beginner = Tactics and basic endgames ie - mating with queen, rook etc.

Hope this helps
