Post Your Chess Boards

@goodknightmike, the least you could have done was set up the board correctly.
Good observation and you passed!! My last few pics have the board set up correctly!

Really nice boards, Mike. Both are inlaid? The Abaco Barb set shows up really well on that board.
Thanks RC, I think the cherry wood sqaures contrast well against the the ebony and boxwood pieces. Yes, both boards are inlaid.

Can anybody please help me with this...
I inherited a chess set, I would like to find out more about it...
Can anybody please help?!

Excuse me, this topic is about Chess Boards and then the occasional set on those boards.
Please begin another topic regarding this set.

It wont allow me to begin a new topic, I have tried.
I am new to this site, and so just thought that this was the most appropriate place to post.

My vintage drueke 2.5 sq just got it love the patination on this board
That is outstanding!

I know I'm late to this but there are some I'm working on.
Beauties! Did you make up these boards for yourself, or for resale. Descriptions please. Thanks.

...Edited out...
I realize that I couldn't compete with some of the very fancy boards displayed in this thread. ^-^

I made these myself, still not 100% complete. Still working on the finish.
Two of them are paduak & maple squares with brazilian end grain border. The other is all end grain, the border is walnut and squares are maple and i'm not even sure what the dark squares are. I found the dark wood at a woodcraft store in a bulk bin, they wern't quite large enough for the 2 1/4 squares I wanted so I had to cut and glue strips on both sides, I think you can notice that in my poor photos.
Thanks for the complement.
I forgot to mention they all have laminated maple base. They're all solid hard wood and quite heavy.
I am going to sell some at very fair price, have too many sitting in my basement and I want to make more, would like to perfect the craft.
Here's another inlaid board from my collection. The board features maple and cherry 2 .5" squares. The board is shown with ChessBazaar's 4.4" Abaco Barb ebony and boxwood set.
Very nice!
Thanks Chuck!
