This is my dream chess set, I will be able to defeat every single challenger with this. I will be unstoppable. Nobody will be able to end my reign of power once I get this chess set.

They don't look like mahogany - maybe Tiger Ebony? It's a really nice looking wood whatever it is, hopefully someone will be able to identify it with more certainty.

I like the set . It has a primitive look and a Russian design influence. Too light color and broad grain to be Teak.

"Things Go Better With Coke"......Wasn't that their advertising slogan?

Super interesting.

An old magnetic pocket set. A much older pocket set with pegs like one I used in homeroom in high school, but I bought this one on Ebay a few years ago. It was missing a piece so I bought another for the extra pieces. Two that were gifts. My in-laws picked up the conquistadors and Aztec set during a Panama Canal cruise. The Coca-Cola set was given to me by a elementary school principal at a school where I ran an after school chess program for fifteen years.

Next up, some of the sets that I use for playing and studying chess.

I played chess for twenty years with cheap Lowe sets, often hollow. I also had for about twelve years an onyx set purchased in Mexico. I made a table with a felt board for it in high school, but sold the set at a yard sale just before graduate school because money was tight.

Then, a couple of years into graduate school, I bought my first regulation tournament set at Toys-R-Us for less than $10.

The pieces are worn. I played many tournament games on this set until ...

Until I bought a wooden set, but not this one, which is more of a throwback to my youth.

Hello, I am new to the site.  I would like to see if any forum members have info on my set, but I can't see where I am able to post photos.  Can anyone send me instructions on how to insert photos in this comment section?  Thank you.

It taks a couple of weeks for a new member to be able to post pics.

I'm not a big fan of theme chess sets, however when it comes to theme set, my favorite is the civil war theme set.
