HOS Reykjavik II. Pretty standard Staunton style set, but I love the clarity of the knights.
So how about a close up!

That's nice. Did APWoodcraft attach feet to that board?
Some beautiful chess sets! I had the toy plastic chess and checkers set for the longest time. Then my mom found these at a thrift shop. I can't really play chess with them. I'm thinking of selling them.
The pics are poor potato pics, I need to take some better ones of each piece but you get the idea I think
this is a group shot
Here are the bishops
the king and queen
the knights
They were hand made by someone. I have all the pieces. I had kind of a matching board purchased at another time but was too small for the pieces. They are made of really lightweight wood, a breeze would blow them away.
I have a couple differant plastic weighted tournement sets now and a magnetic set. My favorite style I would like to have someday is the The Zagreb '59 Series Chess Pieces sold by house of staunton. I like the distiguising marks on the bishop and other pieces.
I've identified that set since I've made that post! Its a thornwood African Yoruba set! Made in Nigeria. I would get a board and display it if I had the room. I think I will put it on ebay though. Its rather unique and I would like it to belong to someone who would display it where it could be seen and use the proceeds to get something more useful to me, like a small wooden magnetic set or some books.
I found the info on chess museum. com. They have a lot of interesting sets on that site,
@FrankHeiwig
Hi Frank ... it's a board made for a nr 5 Chavet Chess sets (France) produced by a Spanish company ( http://www.rechapadosferrer.com ). Sq = 5 cm (a bit less then 2 inches) and the wood used is maple/inlay. I think they don't make them anylonger. Bought it in my home town Antwerp (Belgium) at a shop ( http://www.amusement.be/chessboardborderlight50mm-p-2006.html ). They still have some.
Hope I could help.
Nice sets bananamoon! Could you share more pictures of the Bohemia chess set?
here you are: ( you can still purchase the set at: http://www.denkspiele24.de/schach/schachfiguren/holz/holz-schwarz-und-natur/schachfiguren-bohemia-staunton-schwarz-96-mm-turniergroesse.html )
