Seems like a bargain! Great looking set, I will surely soon look for one just like that one myself, prefferably in ebony for black pieces, because they remind me so much to Imprerial Collector set, which is sadly discontinued by Royal Chess Mall, I remember they used to have him before.

I decided to buy a set in Bud Rosewood and Boxwood from RCM for my regular Wednesday Club games. I am very pleased with it. I tried to take pictures in natural light because the dark pieces look very different only indoor lighting. The natural light are a truer representation but doesnt do 100% justice to how nice it looks.

Very nice. It looks like the latest Sinquefield set. What is it called?
3.9" Craftsmanship Staunton.
I own 2 sets with Knights that look like these. This is a Knight design, with the "notched" manes, that Frank Camaratta first came out with. In fact I called this design the Camaratta Knight.

Yes Camaratta did the Sinquefield sets. The cheapest version of this design you can get from him at HOS is $495 compared to the $125 RCM price! Not saying they are identical but still...
I wonder why People can copy his design. I would think he could get a design patent or copyright or something, but apparently not. CB sells the old Sinquefield design with the unicorn looking knights (called the 2014 Siquefield set). I thought they didn't sell the newer version due to copyright, but apparently not.
Yes, this reminds me of the topic of Chess sets and their prices. My experience is that the buyer should be cautious when paying so much less.
Something has to give. It could be in the wood quality, even before the carving begins. It could be in the lathe and carving work. It could be in the weighting of the pieces, It could be in the finishing of the pieces from the wood to the felts.

You just joined Chess.com about a week ago. And it appears that the only reason you joined here was to promote this internet store of yours.
I suggest you stop crashing in on other topics and stick to starting and posting in ones that refer to your business and only that.

I noticed that too. Blatant self promotion for free, with no intention of contributing anything in return.
You seem to be putting together a very nice collection of sets.Obviously you have good taste.
Any wine recommendations?-![]()
Just out of curiosity, in the sets having rooks and knights stamped with the king's crown, I haven't seen bishops marked the same way, is there a reason for it ?

There is always a light square and dark square bishop. You don't need a stamp to know where it's starting square was!
He's not advertising he is showing us a set he bought. Who cares if you don't like it?
Those picture comparisons show just how good a job Royal Chess Mall has done with their 1849 reproduced set, specially with the hand carved knight.
I've had my eye out on this set for some time.
