Love Magnet never played one game of chess on here......
Should I put my chess set into production?

Hi. No, I haven't left for good. This is a spare time project among several other things I'm interested in, and I've had a little down period lately, so bear with me please.
No, I've never played chess here, and honestly I couldn't play my way out of a brown paper bag. Judging by how long it took me to become semi-good at poker, I don't think I want to invest the time it takes to get good at chess, so my only interest in this site is to get reactions from actual chess players to my chess set.

LOvMag, sorry for the OP post, but the Danish propensity for diy seems deep. A cork and duct tape rocket ship. This is today's news in Canada.

and 'we're' apparently happy to give it. If you're not, you are more than invited to find another thread more to your liking. lowlife.
His only interest is boosting his own ego by keeping this thread alive and hoping people drool over what is a very average looking chess set.
Even the name 'Lovemagnet' is suggestive of someone in love with their own ego.

Then you really have to stop posting here, you're inflating his ego with every message! Hurry otherwise his evil ego-inflating plan will be realized and the world will be destr...ehm...wait a second; even supposing he is here to inflate his ego, who cares? Or will his inflated ego cause the world to implode? I can't see how, but there must be an hidden problem, otherwise you wouldn't be posting like this , right?

Very personally? Not at all. It just puzzles me that anybody would care about lovemagnet's reasons. I mean, those who like to give feedback to him are commenting, having fun and clearly don't care about his reasons. If you don't find his board interesting or if you think he has a twisted personality that's fine, you can just avoid posting here; or you can post and write "I think the board is terrible", whoch would be an entirely legitimate thing to do. I just can't understand why someone would stop in a thread he doesn't like to post something irrelevant like "the OP has an inflated ego, nobody should post here". What's the point?
The "banning" of chesshole would have been a bad thing to do if he was someone criticizing the chess set in a constructive way. But since he was just provoking and making unrelated remarks about the OP ego, it just made sense to stop his nonsense.

Open-ended threads always turn to crap here and they're also the most popular. Either ask a specific question and get few answers or get trolled. That's how things work here.
Off-topic might be a better location for this thread even though it doesn't need to be there.

A beautiful chess set. Yes I would buy them..at a reasonable price. Why dont you research and find out what you must do to your set to make it tournament savvy. Get it accepted by the powers that be. The Staunton peices are simple, robust and they come in different price ranges from say $12 a set to the more expensive. Your peices as plastic or wood still look a little fragile, however I think you've got a good start on something there LoveMagnet. Well done!!

his motive is clear. To get feedback on his chess set. Much of the feedback has been constructive and fun. Those who were egregiously unconstractive and distractive got banned. I, like Bresando, invite anyone who doens't want to be here, to find another thread more to your liking. It is thoroughly interesting that people who have no interest in the topic post here, and their posts are quite consistently inflammatory, and wrong, as in the IndyFilm guy who said this was an ad for shapeways, when shapeways forms probably less than 1% of the post topics on here.
Hot under the collar? Not at all. I just think you're a lowlife, and I find it pathological that you continue to post here. Yup, pathological. Look it up.

I guess a troll's life is to be provocative. You can believe what you want. But its when you make accusations about people's motives that you start running the risk of getting kicked off. At this point, I would certainly support kicking you off here, Indy. You certainly are not participating in what we are doing here.

Would you consider a small brick pattern on the Rooks? Also maybe the Knights show the eyes on the horse?

the idiot wrote
lol, yah, and the internet provided him with the modifications to his pieces that we requested, right after we requested them!!
talented little mind reader, that internet!
and our little Indybuddy is a master of critical thinking.
I can't wait for LoveMag to come back and show us the latest modifcations to his pieces that he found on that little disc of his!!! hahaha
So what is with your manic behavior when you discuss Love Magnet?
I wouldn't be at all surprised if you had some creepy little "shrine" to Love Magnet in your house, like with his picture in the middle, and print outs of his posts in this thread you've scribbled on with red crayons, maybe a few candles burning and amulets.
That's how disturbed you're coming off.
radioarno.... Regardless of the actual reason why LoveMag (as you call him) started this thread, you are starting to sound as though you're a bit in love with him.
one thought that came into my mind after viewing the set and some of the comments:
why not make the pieces when viewed from the top to be more triangular or square instead of round? not with sharp edges but very large radius arcs in each corner. so viewed from the top it would be a very soft triangle with one of the rounded corners facing forward or a very soft square with one of the soft corners facing forward. and when viewed from the side the curve would be flaring towards the bottom as the shape increase in thickness. the reason i make this suggestion is as a possible design solution to the designer wanting to keep the arms, so it would make the rest of the piece less symmetrical about the center point. it would also make the set more distinctive from the so many that are "turned", which addresses one of the other comments. that's the nice thing about these modeling programs--you can create multiple designs before making a final choice.
I... the royal we..! The editorial...
I think he means everyone in this thread who is giving advice and stuff.
