I looked at Shredder 12 but then I found Hiarcs Chess Explorer.
Really Shredder on the Mac is a toy compared to Hiarcs Chess Explorer on the Mac which is a real Chessbase replacement. I think it many ways it is better than Chessbase.
All the issues you mention are no problem in Chess Explorer, I now use it instead of Chessbase and I really liked it. I really advise you to check out Hiarcs on the Mac BEFORE you purchase Shredder 12, or you will regret it.
Hello,
I hope somebody can help me with a few issues I have with Shredder 12.
Already I am a longterm user of Deepshredder 9 for mac. Now I am planning to buy the version 12 but I mentioned a bug.
When searching a database in a .pgn format I cannot search on result anymore. When searching f.i. result is 1-0 the search result is not filtered. Everything is working fine on OSX 10.6.8 with Deepshredder 9 but there is no way to search anymore with the 9 version under OSX 10.8.
With version 12 (free download 30 days) you cannot search on a result in either OSX 10.6 and the new OSX 10.8. I want to change to version 12 because also the GUI looks better.
Is there anybody on this forum who can check with the Deepshredder 12 version if this bug is also present on his or her system. As I mentioned I only checked the free trial version.
Secondly I want to add a single line of the engine when analyzing a game myself. I only see the possibility to use the analysis function but that function adds analysis to the whole game and I just want to add a single line when analyzing myself.
Any help? Of course I read all the manuals.
Thank you
