Shelby hasent discussed this in over 3 months/which leads me to think there is a problem ( im in your boat alphamelon i would buy 2 sets in either ivory or cream/ but as I currently have 3 plastic sets, i refuse to pay for a color I dont want, even at a lower price)

@goommba88 There might have been some challenges that have popped up this needs addressing before making any updates. Patients does go along way and just wait it out. Shelby did promise the UCP sets were making a come back. However he go stuck with a color most people hated. I get that and in business things happen. Could Shelby paid closer attention to what his manufacturer was going to give him in the end? Yes after all it is his baby. I know that he will deliver on his promise for a better color option. He's the only one in town that can legally produce this set in America. I just wait for it. Until then I have several other sets that I can purchase and play with to enjoy chess. The universe of chess gameplay doesn't revolve around only one chess set.
The way I see it is that Shelby is making the consumer suffer for his error of judgement. He is refusing to make more until he sells every single hideous yellow monstrosity he owns. He expects chess players to pay for his mistake and is holding the chess world to ransom until they do so. Any other businessman worth his salt would take the hit like a man. Reproduce the set and recover some of the losses.

Well, there is no other businessman that is offering anything close to the quality of this set.
There is quite the high price to order a set like this produced. There is a minimum order of 2,000 or 3,000 sets. If you want to send him a payment of $25,000 as a start, I bet he would get those sets made right away. And I am sure he would provide you with at least 250 sets or so.
Also, there is no business that owes you or any other consumer anything like you demand. Just because you don’t like that color does not mean others don’t like it.
Also, please feel free to not buy that or any other set you don’t like.

Itll happen when it happens. Don't push it. The last set happened naturally and still came out controversial. And you want to speed this next set up. God only knows what color the pieces would be if you rush it.
Plus with the coronavirus out and about I'm not sure anyone would be wanting to buy anything made in China right now.

I have the UCP yellow and black set in my office and while I would have ordered ivory/white if available I think the yellow looks great. It’s different, but the pieces are really great. I went to Michigan, so if the dark pieces came in blue I’d have the perfect set, but I would order a set of ivory/white if they were available too.

@pbwilson If you went to the Naval Academy. Blue & Yellow would be fitting for the Blue Angels as well. LOL! Yeah the yellow can be a bit over powering but I have found to make lemonade out of lemons. 
Get it? With the right color of board. The yellow isn't too bad. Since these bold yellow sets were a one time run. Might be a collector set 10-20 years down the road. Ivory/White to me is over powering and blends too much for me. On wood grain printed roll up boards they are fine but as for the plain jane green & white boards. I don't like it so much.

You could always do a teaser of the new set where you only show the box and you sitting there twirling a fake mustache.

Patience is the key. You have to realize he has to sell most of the other sets out to put down a princely sum to start the process. Then the samples and then the many sets he has to order. I am sure the minimum has to be easily 1-2K sets. And remember he is not using lead which also adds to the price since lead is cheaper.
My guess and it may be way off, and I mean early, would be August 2020.
Shelby, I love my new ultimates. The moment some ivory/white sets are available I'll buy them in a heart beat. ETA??????
