Vintage Chess set for sale

I haven't played chess in years, since I was in high school actually and for me that's over 50 years ago. The other day I ran across my old chess set in the back of my closet and decided it was time to let it go. This is a 1962 Austin Cox modernist extruded aluminum set. It includes the wood display box with a blue plexiglass front panel and the 19" red suede chess board. I though this forum might be a place to find someone who would be interested. The King is 4 3/4" tall, pawns are 3 3/4".

Trying to find how to post a picture. No help in Help. Help!

Thanks for playing, haverumwilltravel, however, my understanding this set has significantly more value than that.

I appreciate the help. My post bar has the chess board next to the "B" for bold. No other icons.  I saw the photo icon in the tips box but nowhere else.

Sorry notmtwain, I couldn't find any tool to load pictures into the post so I put a picture of King and Queen, white and black as my avatar.

To load pictures, you have to use the website.  The options to load pictures, videos and games are available.

The icon for posting a picture is just to the right of the chessboard icon.

Here is one that sounds like yours:

Obviously, you need to post pictures and descriptions of your set and board.

Have you ever sold anything through eBay?

Yes Notmtwain, that's the same set as mine.  So clearly there's more than one out there. I'm on the website so I don't understand why the complete selection of tools isn't showing in my post box. I sent a message to support but no one is responding so far. Anyway I thought a community of chess players was a better place to see if the set is really worth what the eBay posts suggest. It looks like one may have sold for something like $1,200.00 but I don't know much about eBay other than by reputation. I do know the set is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. So far, that's $50 from Haverumwilltravel. Anyway thanks for the conversation. I'll continue to look for a way to post pictures. Do you have a Facebook page I could access?

Yes, I figured you were having fun. That's OK. I appreciate your comments and no doubt will have to establish an account at eBay. I was hoping for a more direct personal route. I had nice exchanges with the people at Chess House and Chess USA but they don't buy used sets. I am really dumbfounded about the picture thing. Thanks again.

Thank you so much for the reference. No problem with the pictures, it's this posting box that I don't understand.

It's a very impressive site. I now spend much of my summers sailing and often on Cruisers Forum a website devoted mostly to non-racing sailors. Thanks again for the help.

Chess.com recommends you use the Google Chrome browser.  Other browsers seem to have problems occasionally.

And you see nothing like the textbox images I posted?

And the operating system for your PC is what? Windows 10? Something else?

Are you a computer in a work or otherwise controlled environment?

Thanks for trying to help but I've exhausted my options. I'm on Windows 10, Google chrome and in my tools bar beginning on the left, a chess set, "B", "I",, etc. No picture icon.  This is my home computer, no outside controlling network. As you probably saw I was given a reference to chessantiques.com so I'm following that up now. Thanks for trying.
