What is the best wooden chess set? And best chess clock?

I have this chess set with a wooden board, and wooden pieces, and I am unsure about the weight, I think it is maybe double weighted. Do you guys know any sets similar for cheapish prices?
Also, what is the best chess clock? I currently have a Blue DGT clock.
Thanks everyone!

What’s wrong with the current setup? A standard playing set should have a king in 3.75 inches and 2 to 2.25 inch squares.

Cut n paste link This is a German knight set and this set would be great for tournaments. You can find this more locally

DGT 3000 is by far the best chess clock out there, it has so many customizable settings and is the standard in pretty much every chess tournament out there. https://dgtshop.com/products/chess-clocks-2/dgt3000

The DGT 3000 is a good clock but I wouldn't say it's the best. The reason it's currently used in most top-level tournaments is because it connects to the DGT e-boards/smart boards.

Thanks guys! Does anyone have any more suggestions?

@Chesswhizz9 I have actually played on that clock before in OTB. I really liked it but the problem is that it is really expensive.

@Micahsmith That is true but I think it probably is the best, it is just a little… expensive

@hermanjohnell that is a nice board I will look into it

There are a lot of cool chess sets out there, I know because I make them myself

First of all, size is important. Sizes 5 and 6 are most comfortable to play.

Once you know the size, consider where you'll be using it. Wooden chess boards (made of solid wood) are the coolest. Their big advantage is that they look amazing and will last for generations. If they age badly (e.g., in 15 years), just sand and oil them, and they'll be as good as new. But it can be more expensive than DGT.

You can buy 90% of the chess pieces and choose whatever you like. They're mostly made in India/Pakistan, although we also have a number of manufacturers in Poland.

Version with epoxy (not sure for dayli training).

You can get a lot of reasonable quality sets in the internet. Niggemann has a lot of very good offers, and having bought my sets there, good shipping.

The german knight staunton sets are used a lot in tournaments- like Schachmonkey suggested. But I too have a set that is about 100 $ cheaper, dont see whether the difference is very notable, even compared to a 300$ set ( Although the finish is a bit glossier).

With a board I would recommend something over 60$ as the squares should really be aligned well and possibly over/ about 55mm.

The rest comes down to liking.

In terms of clocks: cheap (20~€\$) game timers work well for me, playing mostly at home with friends. The modern DGT’s tend to be very expensive, thus a DGT 2010 ( official fide chess clock , which was used for a long time and in WCS) is more than enough!
