Which of these boards would you prefer?

Avatar of goldendog

The one oriented correctly.

Avatar of evert823

I just fixed the orientation in the top one.

The 2nd one. The top one's tiles seem too large for those pieces.

Avatar of Casual_Joe

I like the colors of the top one, but I agree with TBD that the tiles seem too big.

Avatar of Bronco

I like the top one. More elbow room for the pieces. I like the coloring better. Also I like how the dark squares have the grain orientated left to right (I'm weird like that)

Avatar of 9kick9

The top one. The bottom one seems too dark.

Who's move is it?

Top board is more attractive but the pieces are too small for it.  Like Bronco I prefer horizontal grain and the light squares are too yellow on the bottom board.  Mahogany top and teak bottom?

Avatar of DrFrank124c

I like the top one. It seems to me that a board with large squares makes the position easier to see. Also I like the wood color and contrast.

Avatar of kco

I like the bottom one. Easy on the eye for me.

Avatar of AnOmalimusicofficial

Top one.

Avatar of trysts

The yellow one.

Avatar of cortman

The top one for me. Are you giving them away? :)

Avatar of evert823

I've had the bottom one for over 15 years, yesterday I bought the top one and don't need the bottom one anymore. Now all of a sudden my girlfriend argues with me that she doesn't like the new one (top). Hence I was interested in more opinions.

You didn't mention tne most important factor: square size.

Avatar of MSteen

Size matters.

The original question, though, was which BOARD you like better. Take the pieces off and end that debate, and I much much prefer the top board.

Avatar of tfulk

I like the top board better.

Avatar of FrankHelwig

Definitely go with whichever one your girlfriend likes better...

Avatar of Raja_Kentut

It seems like the bottom one is more well made than the top one. Are they both of solid wood or veneers?
