Windsor Castle find

I've been looking for one of these for a long time and finally got lucky.   The owner had bought it in Coney Island when he was 13 years old.  He played a lot of games in Washington Square Park.  It's got some miles on it but still looks good.  The heaviest damage is chipping around the base of some of the pieces.  The ball on top of one of the white bishops is gone.  Other than that, a few very minor chips.  All but one of the felts are there.  The weight and feel of the pieces is great.  The biggest problem is going to be cleaning the interior of the case which is filthy and worn.  I'll hit it with a vacuum tomorrow and see how it goes.

Great set. I barely missed one about 6 months ago. Still feeling that! This case reminds me of the cases on some Lowe sets.

How did the case clean up please?

I managed to vacuum the interior of the case without ripping the lining, but it's pretty much the definition of threadbare. Given that the faux leather exterior is torn along the seams, the entire thing should probably be trashed. But I'll hang on to it since that was how it was originally sold. For 19.75 back in the day! I have the case outside in the sun hoping to lose some of the musty smell.
