I enjoy my lacquered set from HOS which I have had now for 3 years.  Although I would not play a tournament game with something that shiny. It does look super nice set up on a board though.

love the set much better now.  Hard to photograph though.   Looks much better in person.

Wow, must look absolutely incredible in person because it looks beautiful in the picture.

Which part of the Southeast do you live in?

Fwiw ... I just posted a sort of review (but mainly just a video) showcasing my set after I laquered it.   The video can be seen here https://youtu.be/iKyfocgRjm8

if your bandwidth can afford it, choose the HD version as opposed to the default 360 version.

Very nice review. Love the look of the set (Knights like that are not my style though).

You do a good job, would like to see some more reviews by you.

I heard you mention a lazy susan to rotate the board. I do this with my board, I bought this:

https://www.lowes.com/pd/Richelieu-Gray-Cabinet-Lazy-Susan-Swivel-Plate/50146394

and some rubber "feet" for the top and bottom so nothing slides.

I then cut a piece of 1/8 to be just under the size of my smallest full size board to put in between the board and the lazy susan. Works well to rotate the board around.

Thanks Rsava, ...  for for the kind comments and the tip on the lazy Susan.   I plan on following through with that.
