Zeus High Polymer Tournament Chess Set

I recently purchased a unique plastic set called Zeus High Polymer Chess Pieces. It is a plastic set made to look like stone. On the White side you get a Jade Green color blended with White. On the Black side you get what I call a Smokey Brown color blended with White. I love the Jade Green color the most but I could be bias because Green is my favorite color. Anyways the set has a good weight to them. They are not UCP caliber of weighting but good enough for me. According to bestchessset.com's website. The set weighs in at 2.7lbs. this is a good amount of weighting. I have 2 other High Polymer sets from bestchessset.com. Their Nero set is really good due to the style, height, and weight. Their Bellevue aka Zagreb High Polymer set on the other hand is really bad. I regretted getting their Bellevue set. However this review is about the Zeus set. The one thing I like about the Zeus set is that it has felt instead of faux leather pads. There is a bit of a shine to the pieces but it isn't blinding and overwhelming. The only thing I don't like about the Zeus set. Is the tops of the Rooks are super thin and are vulnerable to snapping. Other than this design flaw. The set is a set to own if you are looking for something outside the lines. The set costs about $70. The set that was sent to me had one Rook & one Bishop that had way too much white in them and they looked out of place with the rest of the set. I received replacements from bestchessset.com in timely manner and no hassle. Good on them for their customer support. I believe that the Red Leather print vinyl board was a good choice for this set.

They actually kind look like the Saf-t-pop suckers we used to get at the doctors when we were kids.

Hah, totally. I was thinking they look like some kind of green apple candy. 

Anyways cool set! Never seen anything like it.

Not sure on scratches or chips. Just received the set a week ago. 

Yeah I can see how this set would look like candy. I was thinking of taffy with a marbled pattern look. These pieces would give jawbreakers a new name for sure.
