For openings, you can look online on youtube. Tbh, even if u were to memorize all the lines, ur opponent won't play exactly the same things every time. Learning not to hang pieces should be the key first.

For example the queen's gambit is something white plays after 1.d4 d5

The king's gambit is something white plays after 1.e4 e5

You should just choose one of them... you can't play both 1.e4 and 1.d4 in a game.

Sure professionals play 1.e4 sometimes and 1.d4 sometimes, but they've been playing for many years. It's better for new players to learn one at a time.

And anyway, learning them "in full" would take months of full time study (if not years) and wouldn't be useful for new players because their opponents are not going to play book moves.

thanks

the queens gambit is the only gambit in which you will not lose a pawn 99% (its not considered an actual gambit) so dont use that just use e4 e5 whatever you want to at the 400 rating level just make sure  if you play ur move what will happen next, will he take a piece? will he checkmate you? just think about this two things and even you dont need openings on this level

I find the videos and lessons and challenges are important to learn how to play the game
