I know somebody in one of my clubs that got ripped off by a chess teacher, he took her payments and she never heard from him again. Food for thought. I guess that was an opening known as "The Venmo Gambit."

I don't think that happens very often, as not many coach would risk their online reputation with such a move. How many lessons did she pay in advance?
