Hello chess friends and opponents, I was wondering if just doing the challenges in the lessons is in some way beneficial since for some reason I have been unable to watch video lessons on chess.com since I joined.

So do the challenges cover what the video was about completely or just Abit, I am very curious since I am from taking my first "lesson" where I just didn't the challenges.

I would appreciate if someone could clear up my curiosity.

You should watch the whole lesson video before doing the quiz because you will miss out on a principle, fundamental or theme which will serve as your foundation moving forward.

For example, why place a pawn in the centre on the first move? Why are we fighting for the centre? Understanding concepts will help you improve and navigate instead of remembering move orders or piece placements.
