Looking for coach that is using the steps method

Hello Forum,

I am quite new to chess and learning with the Steps Method. I finished Workbook Basic 1 and now at the end of Extra 1. I additionally use the Chess Tutor 1.

I would like to get a coach who is using the Steps Method so the coaching would supplement the method I am already using.

Maybe there is someone in the forum or knows someone.

Thank you!

Best,
Jonas

Hi Jonas,

My students are using the step method to improve their basic pattern knowledge and recognition.

Feel free to send me a dm.

Hi Jonas, my students also use the 'Step Method' by Cor van Wijgerden. Feel free to DM me and I can look at some of your games to identify weaknesses. I offer professional coaching.

Hi Jonas,
I don’t use the Steps Method as my main system, but I can work alongside it and help you reinforce the patterns you’re learning in Step 1. If you’d like to explore coaching, feel free to DM me — I work with students in your rating range.

Best,

Hey Jonas,

Great to see you progressing through the Steps Method with that consistency you’re on the right track.

My coaching is built to integrate directly with Steps and accelerate how quickly it shows in your games. I use a structured system:

1. Diagnostic Session (60–90 min)Deep game analysis to identify exact gaps in your current Step level.

2. Rapid Fix PackImmediate correction of key mistakes (tactics, calculation, board vision).

3. Skill Development Phase (15 Core Skills)

  • Calculation & candidate moves

  • Pattern recognition

  • Blunder control

  • Piece coordination

  • Basic planning

  • Time management

4. Performance DevelopmentTurning knowledge into consistent results under real game pressure.

This way, your workbook study doesn’t stay theoretical it becomes practical strength.

If you’d like, we can begin with the diagnostic and map everything clearly from there.

Best,
Coach Ali
