Bullet Strategy for 40 Year Old

I don't really play that many faster games but I guess a decent mouse would help. You can probably look into this online because, as I say, I don't know too much about it.
My blitz rating ranges from between 1550 to 1740. I sense that I lose the majority of my games on time, and not until playing players in the 1750 and above range do I get crushed.
The issue is even greater ... as one would expect ... with bullet games.
I am almost 40 years of age. I have played enough on this site to know that my speed problems are likely not going away. However, I also sense that there are a few tips/tricks for an older player that may lack the reflexes of a younger player that may be useful.
If anyone could share their thoughts it would be greatly appreciated.
