you don't think nuns move by move is a good newbie book?

The Move by Move by Nunn is excellent. But it is not an ideal first book for a beginner who is only starting up at chess. A new beginner is very weak at tactics and the many long variations there will overhelm a beginner.
A good alternative is Logical Chess Move by Move by Chernev.
How to Win a Chess(10 Golden Rules To Follow) by GM Daniel King is also well suited for you op.
