the guy is asking a book for Newbieand you suggest Aagaard, My System and Nunn's move by move...

The other stuff mentionned are quite good advice (don't chess training pocketbook).

The Move by Move by Nunn is excellent. But it is not an ideal first book for a beginner who is only starting up at chess. A new beginner is very weak at tactics and the many long variations there will overhelm a beginner.

A good alternative is Logical Chess Move by Move by Chernev.
