Hello, I started playing chess a few days ago and I love it. The only problem is that I am not good at it at all. When I go against the computer, I beat beginner, but going against easy is a big challenge.
What I am asking for are tips that can hopefully improve my chess skills. Please, can anyone help me?
I would greatly appreciate it.

Juante,

Can a person will a flower to grow faster, or differently colored than what is present in its nucleosynthesis pathways?

Can a person accelerate to a velocity of 340 m/s in a time less than physically needed to do so?

Can a person write a treatise on The Chaos Theory without delegating a requisite amount of time to studying it first?

Can a person ever understand love?

What I am driving towards, is that chess is played more toward the threshold of the subconscious. You cannot be given a set of rules to improve your chess skills; for the subconscious is not bound by any dictat. The only rule is to play, and play for the game. Practice makes a man perfect, as the phrase goes. I differ in writing, that the practice of chess makes a man. Let your game evolve at its own pace; do not rush.

I wish you all the very best.

Study some basic tactics first, then study some basic endgames and common mating patterns.  After that, I would learn some openings for beginners.

The Dan Heisman novice nooks on his website have excellent advice for beginners:  http://chesscafe.com/archives/archives.htm

If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask, I will do my best to help.

Good luck!
