What color you will be playing means nothing.
How soon are you talking?
How much better is your opponent?

I will be playing my match in one week.
It's hard to say quantitatively how better my opponent is as I don't have his rating. He's sharper than me, has good attacking play and has a good eye for spotting mistakes. I've played him before and he crushed me in the middle game. For arguments sake let's say maybe it's the equivalent of a 1000 ELO player vs a 1300 player.
I have a tournament game soon against someone that is much more experienced than me (I also have the black pieces for this game) and I just want to put up the best fight I can.
Does anyone have any tips on how to prepare for these kind of games (where you just know your chances of a win are very slim) both in terms of what mindset to have and what to study?
Thanks!
