I was hesitant to post this but since it's based on science so I did anyway. As can be seen, by all recent scientific studies on World Chess Champions, all chess World Champions had hair. Some even had beautiful long gleaming hair, yes gimmie a head with Hair. Shirley there is a scientific connection between chess and hair notice no bald World Chess Champions. Out of all the World Champions, I think Bobby Fischer had the best hair, hence his incredible play, yes Bobby Fischer was a real wiener indeed, oops I meant winner sorry. Anyways thanks for viewing my scientific thoughts on chess and hair any responses are welcome.

I wonder why Kasparov plays quite good even though he has lost some hair. wink.png

Maybe hair is like millions of antennae connecting us subtly to the universe, improving our intuition.

but that's a very interesting connection.

Excellent thread - well done OP!

This explains why Bronstein could never become World Champion

There's a rumor that Vishy is bald but wears a toupee.

That would be cheating, wouldn't it? I thought players were banned from using artificial hair to enhance their playing strength. There was that big row about it -  something about Kramnik going to the toilet at critical points during a match where he would allegedly don a wig to temporarily become super strong

I think Vlad might've had the most hair at one time unless someone can post a picture of another wc with more hair.

This thread was a hairbrained idea...

That's obviously the wig he used in order to enhance his playing strength.

It wasn't enough to get Yasser Seirawan over the hump to the title though. But it got him close. Maybe if it were a bit poofier (did I just invent a new word?).

Spassky in his prime had executive hair:

Spassky had some hair way back when.

@DreamscapeHorizons, you've got the best avatar I've ever seen!

Plus a fine collection of photos of hairy chess players

Thanx. I made that meme right after a discussion (if it's even possible to call it that anymore) about anti free speech/political correctness, etc. I try not to discuss that stuff but sometimes I get dragged into it. The result... that new meme/avatar.

Curious thing!
It could be the master's and doctoral thesis of many dematological medicine students!

How do we know hair is the cause rather than the result of good play?  Maybe that's where all the rejected bad lines go that are left unplayed.
