1.The only problem? Completely ignoring the fact it gives away a pawn for nothing after 2.Bxb5.
2.The LSB gets boxed in, i would think the only think you could try to claim as compensation is that your LSB doesnt get boxed in.
1.E4 B5 Opening?
Oh I didn't see the loss of the pawn. Thanks
A suggestion then: instead of trying to make up novel openings based on positional considerations, sharpen up your awareness of whether a given move leaves material waiting to be taken next move. :)
Also, as a general rule, if it's before move 20 and nobody has tried it yet, there's going to be a good reason why.
To be fair though, we all like to try ideas out and it's part of how we learn. I wouldn't care to post my brilliant opening innovations from forty years ago for all to PALATR about. :D
I hearby proclaim this move (b5) the Uandi Gambit, long live the king.
Presumably you don't mean the black king, because I don't think he'll live very long in this opening.
I was wondering what people thought about this opening for black. I can't find it in the openings database.
I played a couple games with it and the only problem I can find is if the light bishop can get boxed in.
