1.e4 f5 : me and my oversized ego vs all of you

I don't think the strength difference between various top engines is really noticeable for that game.

...Nxe5 makes me stop and think, of course. It looks like it "obviously" loses a piece, but 14...Nxe5 15.dxe5 Bg4 ! proves me wrong. 16.f3 allows the zwischenzug ...Bc5+ that gets away from the fork, and other moves lose the pawn.

Still, it's not like I have a lot of choice for this move, so 15.dxe5.

Of course not, but if there's going to be dissension about which engine to use, it makes sense to default to the top engines sooner than later in order to decide the moves more quickly.

And you waste your life commenting on that fact. You are a flesh monger, a fool, and a coward.

Congratulations on joining my blocklist.

If the engines say otherwise than ...Bg4, I will be even more surprised.

A warrior poet joins us. Always welcome.

Why do you play yourself, Oisin?

Here is the most probable (and probably best) line:

With opposite colored bishops (and his doubled pawns), I think we have good drawing chances in this line.

If we draw this game with all the silicon monsters on our side, we will be left with a bitter aftertaste.

It was a lost game before. Converting a draw against a decent opponent when you should have lost is more than respectable. However, if you want to play for a win (which, in turn, plays for a loss as well), the alternative moves do not convert directly into an endgame.

Meanwhile, as an aside, in the TCEC championship Komodo is about to post its 2nd win in the last 3 games to bring that match to 5-2 for Stockfish with 30 games played.  Pretty nice since Stockfish was pitching a shutout up to game 27.

My computer suggests g5! which develops the pawn and allows the bishop to fianchetto on g7. The h5-e8 diagonal is weakened, but thats only a minor problem! After g5!, the f4 and h4 squares are controlled by black and black is better -+ good game well played

My computer is so smart right?

That's silly.  White takes the pawn en-passant.

This is a game where the Queens can't leave their home square until move 5, right?

Well said.

Well, a 2000 Elo player would not win against 3000 Elo engines.

Still, I remember on houdini homepage that it could win 95% games if up a pawn.

Let's see the result what happens. I don't think that there is going to be any blunder by black and white can not even afford to take any risk.

Gentlemen you have forgotten the match conditions. Irontiger says he will win; if the best he can manage is to draw the match is ours. No doubt the engines will be disappointed. But arogance is their problem not ours.
