By the way how would you explain your results against 1. e4 c5 2. c3 Nf6 3. e5 Nd5 ? You scored roughly half-half against this line, but you claim that 2... Nf6 is winning for white.

Just because I’m a moron who frequently blunders winning positions in the 2. Nf6 line doesn’t change the fact that it’s winning

The alapin makes no sense to be honest mate i have a quite strongly worded comment aganist this but well, you wont stop with that
My game with Staples has been going on for a few weeks now and we've reached move 15. Staples is using all his allotted time, which is sensible, and I have to say that this game has given me the chance to really look hard at one of the main lines in the 2. ...d5 Alapin, maybe for the first time in my life. I've never used a book since the early days 30 years ago and I've generally found, playing black over the board in club chess, that I do fine when I take care to fully complete development, choosing the right squares for the rooks to suit the position, and I lose when I try to cut corners and decentralise too early. Except when I'm playing people over 2200 FIDE when I lose in any case. But for the first time, I've really tried to catalogue all of white's and black's possible breaks. I think black is fine and black's losses all come from blunders.

My apologies. Yes it’s true I’m playing very slowly. Too slowly. I have been very busy and have not spent much time on chess.com, but I will move faster going forward!
The Idea behind Nf3 is good. Basically white is saying that if black is going to waste a move to accomplish nothing then I’m going to immediately open the center. The only problem with 2. Nf3 is that it is inaccurate because it gives black drawing chances.
The moron that startes this thread is a complete idiot. The Sicilian is the most popular and definitely the best opening for Black.

That’s a rude and inaccurate comment
I'm not criticising you. Although it's a bit irritating that you're playing slowly, you're playing accurately and since I don't want to lose I'm having to think more deeply than I've probably done before in this opening, so I'm happy. I know a strong player who always plays the Nf6 variation, which is much more orderly. His name is Brett Lund. You could look at some of his games .... he's just a strong club player who lives not too far away from me. The d5 variation can be a bit scary for either side. It's much more fun for black.
c3 d5
exd5 Nf6
Bb5+ Bd7
Bc4 b5
be2 Nxd5!!! -- brilliant move by black and the defining move of the Alapin variation forever, cementing Black's control of the center
Now
Now black can develop very quickly

Yeah same. Youve so far spammed vacation thrice now, like you move, then activate vacation. is everything alright?
This guy is kidding, it would be stupid to say that the highest scoring opening for black is busted.
The Sicilian only scores well against non-Alapin responses. I score 70% using my Alapin as do most other Alapin practitioners
