You guys are outnumbered.

And the rebels were very outnumbered (1000 to 1) yet they defeated the Empire.

Numbers are irrelevant. If the argument is correct, it is correct regardless of how many or few support it.

Yes, but it's not correct.

Besides, the most of the time, the side with more support is usually right.

Most of the time...

Kim Jong Un should be ruling North Korea since the majority of its people supposedly think so.

1. Are we supposed to talk about politics?

2.That's not one of those times.

... I am not claiming an immediate win for White in the Alapin, but that it gives a solid advantage to White, and GMs would consider that to be a refutation.

Look, people, this whole argument is silly. If the Alapin or any other anti-Sicilian was as effective as claimed, every GM in the world would know and would never play 1...c5 in response to 1.e4, for fear of meeting 2.c3 or whatever.

Yet MVL (2775), as black, defeated Danov (2700) in the Sicilian (closed) in Paris this year. Why would MVL play the Sicilian against a super GM if he knew it was busted? And how could he win?

What proves staples facts even more is now, he has ChessBoy513 and his 1253 rating backing up his claims.  Them there is some facts!

I mean who are you going to trust in al of this.  Staples and chessboi, or 2700 GM's?

staples13

It appears there are still a few holdouts who refuse to believe the Sicilian is busted despite the overwhelming evidence.

Would you agree that the Sicilian is a poor opening and that the Alapin gives white a significant advantage that may or may not be winning?

Considering the few times i have faced that abortion of an opening in OTB tournaments and never lost.  I gonna go out on a limb and say the Sicilian is safe.

Well despite having hardly played in months my trusty Alapin didn’t let me down. Here’s my most recent game a 1 minute no increment bucket game. Look at the huge advantage white gets out of the opening. Like all Alapin games black was lost before the middlegame even started

Reuben_Sammitch

Maybe not all...

Dude, there is no bust to the Sicilian! Magnus Carlsen plays the Sicilian a lot!

Classic fallacy.

His opponents not only refuse to play anti Sicilians, but are also much weaker.

wow, so you discovered an awesome super-cool defense that GMs dont know?
