I always think a good weapon against Sicilian, weather play with the main line or prefer sidle such as the rossalimo, closed or grand Prix So can anyone give a good line against the Sicilian I have a very bad score against it.

2 nc3, followed by either 3 f4 or 3 g3, as long as you put in some work to understand the ideas involved.

Something like this hee hee

Thanks! for your suggestion.I will definitely try the line and learn the system

The good approach in openings is to play with ideas, rather than memorization.

With this in mind, Closed sicilian and Grand prix attack are a very good ways to handle sicilian as white.

A pertinent repertoire is playing both, according the circumstances (in some black responses to 2.Nc3, it is better to continue with f4 or with g3...).

The Grand Prix is good against players that are not well prepared.

@poucin

Is it ? which responses are best met by 3 f4 then ? I always play 3 g3

Avatar of Akash70000

what about rossalimo setup?it is less risky I think.

Have you tried Smith Morra gambit ? (1.e4 c5 2.d4 cxd4 3.c3)

Avatar of LTwo

It's not that good against well prepared players

Avatar of MikeZeggelaar

Smith Morra is great at club level.  I find people are not well prepared under 2200, even than, I've beaten 2300's in classical games with it.

Yeah that's true

I think it is good for blitz but in classical it is not good I think

Avatar of pdve

closed and grand prix are both good. Daniel king has some good dvds on the subject.

indeed, 1.e4 d5 2.c3 is a bad idea.

Seriously, tell this to Tiviakov and many GM who play it with good results!
