It probably can be said that the Accelerated Dragon is more positional(Maroczy Bind) and the regular Dragon more tactical(Yugoslav Attack).

Normal dragon = you get smashed by the Yugoslav

Acc. dragon = you get into the Maroczy and you can hardly ever win.
