Adelaide Countergambit with 4. exf5

I'm wondering if any strong King's Gambit players know what theory says about some of these lines.  Not a lot of Master games exist in the databases.  White can get a solid game with 4. d3, but I'd rather get into the messy complications and play the sporting continuation by accepting the countergambit.   Note that this is sometimes referred to as the Miles gambit.

Below is what I've worked out on my own:

There are 39 AGC games in Megabase 2017 between 2200+ Elo players. The above is a thematical digest of these games, truncated to move 15.

This is just something to get you started. I expect you'll find a lot more useful info at chesspub.com's forums.

Hello Nebber_Agin, thank you for posting this material, great stuff.  I'll have to experiment with those 4. d4 lines, that looks like my kind of party.  The 6. Bd6 line under 4. exf5 e4 5. Ne5 Nf6 is useful to see as well.

Two initial remarks:

  • Imho, 3. Nf3 is better than 3. Nc3
  • 4. exf5 might be the unique optimal move making this gambit 1-acute
