Kings Gambit
Alternative to the Ruy

Vienna Gambit if you want some tactics and more likely to catch opponent off guard.
Also Bc4 is good since you can play Evans gambit vs Bc5 and Fried Liver vs Two Knights.

Is the fried liver really that "tactical" after Na5? Idk, seems kinda lame for white.. The evans gambit looks interesting actually, if its worth trying. I play the KG and Vienna Gambit online but never tried it OTB. Nobody in my club ever plays such stuff so I'd be the only obscure opening player if I did. I still love the Ruy for white, but I feel like I need some unsoundness in my life!
You can play the scotch gambit its tactical, king's kambit, vienna, four knights halloween or belgrade gambit. Evan's if allowed, the goring and the danish are always fun as well. There are loads of others that are worth googling if you are interestged.

The scotch gambit is tactical if your opponent doesn't know the main lines, if he does it stops being really double edged pretty quick it seems like, I think the Nf6 Scotch can be quite tactical, and I play it from the black side, quite a fun line. The Halloween Gambit or Danish Gambit I would play maybe against a 1200 player or less. Sacrficing a piece for a pawn center doesn't appeal to me..The Goering is just pretty much the Half Danish isn't it? And I know there's lots of strange unsound gambits out of the Italian Game and Bishops opening that sac on f7 etc. I wonder if the "Max Lange Attack" is a good choice?

I myself play the Italian with the idea of going into the Moeller attack vs. 3...Bc5 and Max lange vs. 3...Nf6. They are gambits however, so maybe not your cup of tea, but in exchange you get nice activity, space and sometimes a Black king fleeing for his life.

Never heard of the moller attack, and there's a cool gambit called the urosov I think that someone recommended..however for rapid games only.

E5 huh..Is that what the cool kids are playing nowadays? I suppose if you start playing the Italian Gambit, might as well go all out attack. I wonder why nobody at my club plays gambits with the exception of a few players..I always hear about "club level" openings but nobody at my club ever plays them!
I am wondering if anyone has an alternative opening to the Ruy that I can play around with OTB? I know the Italian or Scotch are popular but something that I would enjoy being a more tactical position loving person, although not crazy enough to be hope chess or be worse playing for tricks. Any suggestions? I like playing the Ruy but I'm trying to expand and play different positions, maybe lines that aren't as respected at top level but still good for trying to win and have fun in the process.
