I like the books of Marin about the English opening but they are 3,maybe much to read.

I will write that anyone can read any book that he likes,so if a 1400rated player wants to learn the Cummings’ repertoire even it is more difficult to learn I will be with him,I will do the same if he wants to read the books of Marin.
Learning new things, he will be a better player.

"... Once you identify an opening you really like and wish to learn in more depth, then should you pick up a book on a particular opening or variation. Start with ones that explain the opening variations and are not just meant for advanced players. ..." - Dan Heisman (2001)

Seasons greeting to all,🎅 I play mostly the London system as white and have enjoyed this opening. However I feel its time for a change, and as I dont know that many different openings, can someone please recommend one which would be a, easy to learn, and can result in an attacking game for me.😃 Also, I'm still struggling to get above 1200 rated despite playing for a few years I would really like to somehow get upto 1400/1500 by the ending of 2020. does anyone have any ideas of what areas to focus on in order to generate this kind of improvement. thank you and good luck and happiness to all👍

Your issue an an obvious and common one.

To much blitz/bullet/rapid.  Even in your Daily games, you're moving fast.  36 moves in 3 days?

Is there reason to believe that thegrinder50 has only one issue?

Try the Scotch Gambit, or if you're feeling daring the Kings Gambit. I learned a great deal about tempo and tactics playing the KG

thanks all for the replies, I think I do need to play less games , I always have atleast10 daily games going on and i suppose that doesn't help. last two days I've learnt the English opening which so far I've enjoyed and had success. I will take note of some great points/suggestions in this thread. thanks and grateful as always 👍
