Anything wrong with 1d4 c6

If you are a Slav player but not a Caro Kann player White can play e4 and you are no longer in a Slav.

You gotta get rekt to rekt.

Im confused triggerlips, that looks more like a Tiger Modern than a Caro Kann.
It is, but original poster wanted to maximise his chances of caro canns by 1.c6 against d4 hoping for 2. e4 but admitted he does not know slav at all. so I was just giving him an additional option if his opponent went 2.c4. At least with this way his opponent likely be in the dark as much as him

1. d4 c6 is perfectly playable. There's nothing wrong with it at all.
Even a totally dumb line like 1. e4 f6 is marginally playable (in the sense that White has no forced win).
1 d4 c6 is more of a transpositionnal tool than an opening by itself. If you can't find something that suits you when white plays 2.c4 you should avoid it (or learn the lines that you don't know yet, it's actually a great way to expand your opening possibilities you will have lots of carokahns you are familiar with but will only have to learn the slav more, instead of the HUGE amount of theory with the typical slav move order 1.d4 d5 where white can do numerous things that you would need to be familiar with), but there are plenty of black defenses which can start this way, it is totally playable.
Is there anything wrong with the moves 1d4 c6 if you are happy to play a Caro-Kann or Slav defence?
