I have been struggling against the Nelson Bot (I play offline in-between sets at the gym) and I have no idea how to beat him. He just pummels me before I know what has happened. I usually do pawn e5 to counter e4 is there any better options?

I’m not sure if links are allowed, but look up “Brutally PUNISH Scholar's Mate & Early Queen Attacks” on YouTube.

Once you learn how to counter scholars mate, it doesn’t become scary anymore.

This is how you stop the initial attack.

You still have to play proper chess after, unfortunately this position is sound enough for white.

An interesting alternative below.
