How I got 500 bullet elo ( yes, it's possible )

hey everyone, I wanted to share a little journey about how I got from a 200 struggling bullet player to a 500 elo player. I know it's not a big number to many, but it was a huge achievement to me because I was a victim of constant blunders, misses, cheackmates, and timeouts, and not knowing basic mates. first off, bullet is crazy because you don't have any time to think at all, so here's what I did: 1. Play a lot of games seriously, the more you play, the better you get at recognizing patterns, forks, and cheakmates, I probably over 100 games before I began to play a little better. 2. stop caring if your rating drops if you play a lot of bullet games, you will lose a lot. you just have to play, have fun, and try to improve so things small in each game. 3. learn a few quick openings I didn't go deep in theory, I just learned simple setups that didn't get me cheack dated in over 6 moves. like the london system as white and scandivanian or e5 as black. bullet isn't about memorizing lines - it's surviving the chaos. 4. premove smartly I used to premove random stuff and lose the queen for free. Now I try to premove where it is 99% safe - like recapture or forced mate. 5. time management don't spend 10 seconds on move 4. That was my biggest problem, I started forcing myself to move quicker early, to save time for the endgame and flag the opponent if needed. 6. Tactics, tactics, tactics I didn't go heavy on puzzles, but I did 10 a day just to train my eye. Lichess and chess.com puzzles helped me spot forks and pin faster in real games. Now I hover around 500 - 550 elo, which is better than being stuck in 300. if you're in that boat, don't give up. Bullet is fast and brutal, but improvement is real of you put in the reps. would love to hear how others improved in bullet too! Are there any tips I missed ?

id say also for bullet, playing hyper can really improve your rating as u have a much higher chance of beating someone better then u, since its easier to flag. also getting a decent mouse is useful

Good one. Bullet is the best. Trust me. I think bullet chess is the chess that is more linked to intelligence that the other times control of chess. If not the only. Because you have so much less time, that you need to use your intuition, instinct and knowledge and your ability to solve problems in the quicker instant. Also you have the opportunity to play more games, and that means more fun and more waste of time., and is more agressive. Dont listen to nerds saying is bad, they are nerds who prefer slow time to think. In lower level is common you win because of time or even playing bad, however, if you want to progress in it, or get a bit more of level, you must have to play slower time controls, because you need the basics, strategy and bla bla,.. and of corse, tactics. So also play that, and let bullet at the end.
