At what rating does it become unreliable to play the Vienna (specifically 3.f4)

oh right, how are early Nc3 lines also always objectively better (as you say)

what about playing Nc3 makes it better, and why cant you get it

It's playable as long as you enjoy it, if you started to feel like it's kinda dryish maybe try some other mainline opening they are honestly more fun to indulge in and positions are very lively especially at our level.

The 3.f4 move order is not sound. However, the 5.f4 is. When people start knowing to counter 3.f4 with d5, you better change to 5.f4, since I personally think black has got the edge in the Vienna Gambit.

What is 5. f4? After 1. e4 e5 2. Nc3 Nf6 what are the next two moves that get us to this exciting move 5?

This is the only solid vienna at top level that features an early f4
