Beginner? Don't use this opening - It's too theoretical! Better yet, don't learn any openings!

why would black have any interest in a queen trade if he's playing a gambit?

You will put the queen to b3/c2 and maybe trade it off, black doesn't have enough compensation, especially for a beginner

the bongcloud opening is very nice, there is many ways you can play it, bongcloud theory is very nice as well,  since you not playing against annoying bots, that will punish this opening,  this is the best opening to learn, as it not only makes you understand the game, but it helps you to know when to break the rules. i like the bongcloud, but no one wants to play it

You don't get it

If you play something like the Sicilian, and you're not good enough and don't have a great strategical understanding to the positions that occur, if you don't know theory and sidelines you could find yourself in losing positions on move 6!!
This point is made by Levy Rozman btw so these people ren't just blabbering

And if you never play it you’ll never know how to play it! What better time to start learning than when your opposition is weak?

Avatar of chamo2074

How better would it be if you get an understanding of the positions first?

Avatar of chamo2074

Also 1500s would probably still choke if you play correct moves in the opening

You don't have to rush with this.

Openings teach openings, endgames teach chess
