book on the Hungarian defense?
There's an old one, Harding/Botterill (1977) The Italian Game. chess.com ate my link, search on archive.org for a copy you can borrow.
There's a course on modern-chess_dot_com about 3...d6, Marin (2022) Tricky Repertoire against the Italian. 4 d4 Nf6, 4 c3 f5, and 4 O-O Be7, the third one might overlap with the Hungarian.

many thanks, i also like 3.d6 so will also check it out. 1977 is ancient history in opening theory but hungarian seems the kind of defense less likely to have crazy improvements in theory by engines . Bought myself a copy
Im looking for suggestions on any book or e-course that goes over the hungarian defense. 3.be7!? im having difficulty finding anything substantial
