Book Sugestions on the Caro-Kann?

Avatar of Wind

Hi.

I've been playing this opening lately and I'm in seek of a more deeper approach, so I wanted to ask if anyone knows good Caro-Kann books, not only about the lines but also with some theoretical background on what kind of games can come out of it.

Thanks!

Caro-Kann: Move by Move - Cyrus Lakdawala

The Caro-Kann Move by Move suggests 4...Nd7 after 1 e4 c6 2 d4 d5 3 Nc3 dxe4 4 Nxe4. In the 2012 book, IM Cyrus Lakdawala explained: "... IM Houska and GM Schandorff both advocate the more popular 4...Bf5 line. ... I prefer playing out of fashion lines because my opponents are less likely to be booked up on such lines. ..."

I understand that Opening Repertoire: ...c6 by Cyrus Lakdawala and Keaton Kiewra has recently been published. Apparently, it suggests 4...Bf5.

I'm a Caro-Kann player too! It's awesome! I learned the opening from Caro-Kann: Move by Move - Cyrus Lakdawala, and I own Grandmaster Repertoire 7 - The Caro Kann

They are both really good books

For the love of god, never read Lakdawala, it is all a monopoly.

Look for Karpov books. You may find them on a book store near Siberia.

quality chess books are written by grandmasters and are in general very deep and recommendable. So I would probably go with the Schandorff book. hope this Helps :)
