Books on specific chess openings?

I bought a used copy of encyclopedia of chess openings on amazon for 100 bucks but the seller changed his mind and decided to hold on to it.

I understand this is a rather vague question, but what are your recommendations on specific chess openings? (Ruy Lopez, Sicilan..) I'm looking for the ones the point out the strengths and weaknesses of that certain opening, plans for the middlegame, etc..

Thanks in advance!

I have always had a copy of "Basic chess openings" and "More basic chess openings" by Gabor Kallai.

That said, the above book does look very good.

The Starting Out:  series published by Everyman Chess is very good for getting an overview of a specific opening.
