I am thinking of playing 2.e4 against 1.d4 e5. Largely because I am normally a 1.e4 player and when I do play 1.d4 I would rather side step that gambit as I only play 1.d4 to get practice in against more common openings I am looking at (QGA, QGD, KID, NI, BI, QID). The Englund gambit seems to be lots of traps I would rather avoid. But I think I can play lines similar to the Evans Gambit in the Italian Game by starting with 3.Nf3 4.BC4. Has anyone else tried this? I couldn't find any videos on Youtube or forum topics on this. Can always learn the Englund later on after I get better at 1.d4 positions. The only Center Game Kieseritzky Variation I found was a video where the LS Bishop was developed before the knight. More of a Bishop's game gambit than Centre Game video.
