Sicilian or French

The Sicilian gives more winning chances, but also more losing chances. The French is more solid, but you might receive a few frowns if you play it. As a long time Sicilian player, I am completely unbiased.

"If you ever underpromote to a bishop at a tourney, but don't have a spare, simply get up and find someone nearby playing the French. Take their LSB, and if they complain, simply remind them they were not going to use it anyways" -B1ZMARK.

The Sicilian Defense usually works well when you have a high enough rating to understand it, and you certainly do.
The French is a little more straightforward in terms of the game plans you can develop from it. After ...c5 you're usually committed to attacking White's Q-side. I coached a high school team of mostly 1100-1400 OTB rated players and recommended the French over the Sicilian for the reason that they could more easily plan their strategies.
Doesn't matter, cuz both openings are trash when compared to the bongcloud!
