The Grand Prix Attack

grand prix = bad against anyone that knows book lines or can play with some accuracy out of the opening. I've run it through computer programs. Black quickly gains equality and often an advantage depending on the line.

I also find black's position preferable in some of the main lines (some of which white can't really sidestep). I'm not sure about the setup with Bb5 though.

Maybe someone who plays this as their main weapon against the Sicilian has improvements to share.

I play this opening all the time. White should not play this unless he knows all the good black lines by heart, because white can be destroyed if he doesn't know how to defend them. With the risk, though, can come great reward. Many lines lead to overpowering white king side attacks. This is best for blitz, but also works well in long games if it is well studied.

I like mostly Bb5 style in grand prix.

After 3.a6 (preventing Bb5) we can transopose in to the closed sicilian.
