D4 defence

Hello,

I have recently been troubled in finding a defence against 1.d4. Yet I feel like I have two main responses: 1...d5 and 1...Nf6. All I ask is for some insight on these openings, what you play against d4 even if it's not one of the two listed, strengths and weaknesses, main variations, etc. etc.

tarrasch defence. fighting for the center. tends to give IGQ positions.

After looking this up on Google, I'm pretty sure it's an Italian steelmaking union of some sort.

I prefer to use the Kings Indian Defense and I scored 2 quick wins with it at the World Open this year. It was widely used by Bobby Fischer, if you want to study his games.
