(In my opinion)
Obviously is effective but the problem with dangerous openings like this one or for example the Morra gambit of the Sicilian is that black can study with strong AI because there are [I think] inevitably solutions and in the end white play with one pawn less. Â
Other example related to dangerous openings :
It is efficient to play this but the problem is the same, black has just to study with strong AI because the difficulty is mostly tactical and calculating.Â
Â
I'm trying to say that the basic problem is artificial progression and that in the end we have more to lose than to gain by playing dangerous opening.

I very much appreciate you spending time answering. You are exactly right with regards it being a dangerous and risky way to play. However, I have tried so very hard to play regular and more gently built up attacking openings and I just do not fit that style mentally. I am probably best described as being like a berserker on the chess board! I am very envious at times of people who are able to sit patiently like a sneaky snake waiting for people like me to walk into their oft well prepared counter. This is the beauty and captivating nature of chess!

Danish Gambit gets White nothing. Not even an attack! Easy equality for Black and even with Queen's eliminated.
Â
Thanks for posting Derek, and thanks for sharing Thrillerfan, as I often struggle against it. Didn’t know that important d5 move ![]()
yeah that d5 kinda smokes it down. Thats the move thats been messing it up when I tried it. Is there another extremely aggressive opening perhaps?
Â
I would argue any extremely aggressive opening is going to have some pretty big downfalls when your opponent knows it well. Ever play the Evan's Gambit?Â
Â
I can’t say I’ve played it a lot. Sometimes. But I’m the opposite… I go for the least aggressive openings ![]()
Wow just checked the database and it scores really well for white! 45% white wins. That's huge. I may have to check it out more myself LolÂ
Ps. I'm sure you realize, but the move b4 is when it's officially the Evan's Gambit.Â

# 1..Â
I would suggest not playing the danish Gambit as the best advice I can give youÂ
If you insist..
I would suggest thinking about the move c2 in response to Bc4Â
And seeing if you still insist
Â
I very much appreciate the discussion here. I myself understoof the Danish was not giving me results. It was good to have it confirmed. I am also very much in debt to those of you whom posted about the Evans Gambit. I shall today begin to put this to memory as it looks worth the effort.
Thank you everyone, I dedicate this video to you all!

Bare in mind that if you face the two kniget defence from black your Evans is tout of the window and you may be playing into one of those cleverly crafted counters Derek.. I like your name .. in Afrikaans language the word direk means directly. Your name shows it and your playing style mentality proves this to be true of you. Mm I suggest the King's gambit to you. There is no avoiding it if your opponent chose e5 like in the Evans gambit case.. you will quickly grow alot of experience with it and all those people who talk it down will actually in the back of their mind respect you for playing it . Even the GMs because they wish they didn't have to play "perfect" openings

Could we discuss the Danish. I am a very aggressive attacking player.
I did not get on well with the Danish at my last foray but I feel I should have. I think I would like to try it again, any pointers, tips or video/article links would be most appreciated. I hover around the 1350-1400 rating at the moment.
Thank you in advance.
